Threat of world Aids pandemic
among heterosexuals is over
A quarter of a century after the
outbreak of Aids, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has accepted that the
threat of a global heterosexual pandemic has disappeared.
In the first official admission that
the universal prevention strategy promoted by the major Aids organisations
may have been misdirected, Kevin de Cock, the head of the WHO's department
of HIV/Aids said there will be no generalised epidemic of Aids in the
heterosexual population outside Africa.
Dr De Cock, an epidemiologist who has
spent much of his career leading the battle against the disease, said
understanding of the threat posed by the virus had changed. Whereas once it
was seen as a risk to populations everywhere, it was now recognised that,
outside sub-Saharan Africa, it was confined to high-risk groups including
men who have sex with men, injecting drug users, and sex workers and their
clients.

Edward Leigh, Conservative MP for
Gainsborough, moving the amendment to ban all admixed embryos, said that
mingling animal and human DNA crossed an “ultimate boundary”. He said that
exaggerated claims were giving patients false hope and that the dangers of
the research were unknown. “In many ways we are like children playing with
landmines without any concept of the dangers of the technology we are
handling,” he said.
Organ Harvesting Confirmed By a Former
Detention Center Prisoner.
Recently a witness from Wuxi City,
Jiangsu Province has come forward and revealed what he discovered during
his detention in Wuxi City No.2 Detention Center. According to the
witness, many cases of organ harvesting occurred during 2002.
He was detained from 2005 to 2007
because he made opposing comments about China's unlawful control of
personal speech and media. During his imprisonment he learned that not
only death row prisoners were killed for their organs, but Falun Gong
practitioners too. For the safety of the witness's family in China, we
will not disclose his name.
Chinese children sold "like cabbages" into
slavery
Thousands
of children in southwest China have been sold into slavery like "cabbages",
to work as labourers in more prosperous areas such as the booming southern
province of Guangdong
"The bustling child labor market (in Sichuan province)
was set up by the local chief foreman and his gang of 18 minor foremen, who
each manage 50 to 100 child labourers," the Southern Metropolis Newspaper
said.

Austrian police sought answers on
Tuesday (April 29) on how a father managed to imprison his daughter in a
windowless cellar for 24 years and have seven children by her without
authorities and neighbours knowing. 73 year old Josef Fritzl was brought
before a judge at the regional court in St Poelten in order to have his
custody extended. Staff at the jail where he was being held described him
as calm and seemingly with little remorse. DNA tests have shown he was the
father of Elizabeth's six surviving children.

U.S. Army. Bennett is a proud supporter of protecting the American Flag. He
shared that he did not mind the criticism by campus officials and was proud
to take a stand, but that he almost cried when the police indicated they
were going to arrest him. He had always faithfully served his country and
was hurt to think he would be arrested for protecting the American Flag.
